May all your dreams come true

Updated: Jun 18, 2020

Through meditation, we learn that living in the present moment is a lovely way of being, not dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. But that's not to say we cannot plan to make our future better by doing something today that our future self will thank us for, moving us closer to our dreams.

We often feel the more difficult decisions or the bigger challenges will get easier to face in the future, believing we will have more time or more money and so on. But the reality is this is rarely the case, because the future you is the result of the actions your present self is taking right now, and your present self is the actions from your past self.

If we don't get started on those next steps or new habits today, then how can we expect our future self to. In fact, as the days go by, turning to weeks, months and maybe years, it becomes more difficult to know where to begin let alone start. By putting things off until another day means our future self will be no different to our present self.

If I hadn't of taken what I considered to be a big step, to get out of my comfort zone and become a meditation teacher, I wouldn't be teaching today. And it was not an easy journey, the study, setting up my website and all the things I had to learn that go with running a business. But I love what I do and I'm grateful that my past decision has created my present circumstances.

So in the words quoted by Patrick Flanery "Do something today that your future self will thank you for."

May all your dreams come true!
